Professional Year (PY)

The Professional Year program (PY) provides Australian University graduates from IT, Accounting and Engineering a job-readiness program that includes internship in an Australian company.

Graduates from PY will be equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in Australian workforce.Upon completion of PY program, graduates will qualify for 5 migration points.

DURATION OF THE PROGRAM:
  • 44 week minimum duration
  • 32 week training component
  • 12 week professional internship
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

To qualify for the Professional Year Program, you must:

 

  1. Have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate award in Australia in a relevant field of study
  2. Hold or applied for a Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485, either stream) with at least 12 months validity or
  3. Hold an eligible Secondary Visa with work and study rights with at least 12 months validity
  4. Provide evidence of English language proficiency
  5. Provide a valid skills assessment from a relevant professional association
  6. Offshore university graduates may be eligible to complete the Professional Year in Engineering on a 476 visa.
